The muscles of the upper back, arms, chest and core are used in tight synchrony with other teammates to move toward the finish line. According to Brad Walker, a leading stretching and sports injury consultant of the Training Institute, “rowers, whether competitive or just recreational, repeat the rowing motion over and over again. This repetitive motion can lead to overuse injuries. Incorrect form can also lead to chronic injuries.
This weekend, the KT Tape Team made it’s first appearance at the Boston Marathon and John Hancock Health and Fitness Expo. We had a great time meeting with runners, spectators and journalists, answering questions and taping up athletes.
College football is a very popular sport in this great country of ours. During many halftime intermissions, a select group of athletes take to the field, toting a variety of instruments from the clarinet and saxophone, to the tuba and oboe. Yes, these are members of college marching bands and they are tough as nails.
According to Ray Megill, founder of Performance Lacrosse, “It is not only about lifting weights…to perform at your best on the field you must understand the mechanics of efficient movement. This allows the player to attain his greatest speed, quickness and strength. Playing lacrosse requires the body’s full integration…anything less results in injury and poor performance.”
Running barefoot isn’t just for toddlers and summers spent in the backyard anymore — the long-held tradition of running with no shoes is making a comeback.
This minimalist running technique has recently garnered a great deal of press with the creation of a new shoe for barefoot runners… confused? Don’t be. Much thanks to Sandy Dover and our friends at SLAM Magazine for the great review on KT Tape. In the review, Dover not only highlights how pro ballers use KT Tape for healing and rehabilitation, but have a first-hand view of how it’s applied and how it works.
The KT Tape team has a very busy weekend planned. We have booths at both ends of the country for the Los Angeles Marathon and the Georgia ING Marathon. Taping demonstrations and pre-race advice are available at the booth on Friday and Saturday before the race.
We just returned from the Arnold Sports Festival. This event attracts approximately 170,000 people, making it the largest multi-sport festival in the nation. We had fun taping up the MMA fighters! And KT Tape athlete Mike Bridges was there signing autographs and answering questions.
