I just posted my review (under my husband’s name [V. Stokes] since it was actually his order that was processed)
Subject: It really does work!
After reading a friends glowing blog review about KT tape, and seeing so many runners taped at various races, I watched some of the company website videos for proper tape application. After watching the video for Planter Fasciitis taping, I decided to order a roll and give it a shot.
Two days before my last race, I taped up and found that I had no heel pain. The tape stayed in place and worked like magic! I will always keep a roll of KT tape with me from now on.
I absolutely love KT tape and I don’t run without it. The uses are amazing and results just seem to get better and better. I’ve used it to help with carpal tunnel at work, I ran a 5k with it supporting a stress fracture in my foot, I used it to rehab a sprained ankle in just under a week, and I still use it to help eliminate shin splints.
I strongly reccomend this to runners of all levels, but especially the beginners who could use some help to keep going when the normal pain of running becomes a discouragement.
Using KT Tape over a year – wouldn’t be running without it, August 12, 2011
When I was diagnosed with peroneal tendonitis in June 2010 my PT suggested running with an Ace bandage or compression wrap. I tried, and both were terribly uncomfortable and hindered movement. I knew folks who used KT Tape so I gave it a shot and have never gone back to any other tape or bandage. At the time the website didn’t have directions for taping peroneal tendonitis, I emailed and received a document back the same day with step-by-step instructions. Thanks to KT Tape I continued to train all summer and completed a marathon (with tape on my ankle and a cranky IT band) and am on my way to my second. Without the support of KT Tape, and the added effect of minimizing swelling and faster recovery, I wouldn’t be running. I only have to apply tape once or twice a week, it stays on for days even during hot summer workouts and plenty of showers (I’ve also taped for shin splints and that stayed on almost two weeks). I swear by this stuff, and so do plenty other members of my marathon training group.
I found KT tape after a knee and shoulder injury. I was told my a doctor to get a brace for my knee and shoulder and use it while I participate in my sports. I have used ace bandages and the white athletic tape with the foam prep stuff. I never really like those because they were so restricting and if not applied ride it could really hurt. Then I found KT! I tried a roll and was hooked! I carry KT everywhere I go! I have friends that ask me to tape them, I think they just want to be cool, so I do and they love it too! My cycling partner used another type of tape and after trying KT she stopped using the other stuff. She loves that the strips are precut and are easy to apply. I will stick to KT-as long as ot sticks to me
(good skin prep and temp is key for good adhesiveness)
6 weeks before my first marathon I had ITBS flare! OH NO! I wasn’t going to miss my first 26.2! PT set me up with KT Tape, saved me! I was able to get back to running and ran with it every time. It is easy to apply! I have also used post marathon for runners knee and so much more! KT Tape keeps me out on the roads doing what I love!!!
My 11 yo son has Osgood Disease but loves to run. He has decided to train for 5K’s but during the training his knee would kill him. We went down to Fleet Feet in Murfreesboro, TN and the young lady there recommened KT Tape to help with his pain. My son did his second ever 5K and posted a time of 26.09 and had no knee pain what so ever. He and I are in love with this tape and he has made me promise to always have some on hand for when he is in pain or training.

I have been using this tape for a few years now. I first used it for my ankle and shoulder and now i am using it for shin splints. People say its all in the head but I really believe it works. It takes the pressure off the muscles and keeps things loose. Well at least thats how it feels. I recommend this product to anyone who is active and is in need of some support.
This is an awesome product. I am a fairly new runner, and began having trouble with shin splints. By the end of the 4th week of my running program, I could barely stand the constant pain in my shins. After being fitted for some new running shoes, I found the KT tape. I thought it was probably a hoax (placebo effect at best), but I WAS WRONG! This product has amazed me, and now I’m running pain free. Next time I’ll buy the beige so I don’t look like a nut walking around town with taped up legs, but I love the product. You won’t regret the purchase.
8-12-11 UPDATE! My body is in absolute rebellion to this new routine I’m putting it through. The upside… KT Tape is there to help. I’ve now had to use it to help with a patellar tracking issue, and it works for that, too.
) I LOVE the beige color I bought the other day. It’s great for everyday use. (It doesn’t look nearly as strange with my skirts and sandals for work.)

A few weekends ago we went to Arches National Park. My doctor had previously diagnosed me with patellar tendonitis. Having previously injured my knee I usually needed a bulky knee brace to do anything (such as hiking), but it being over 100 degrees in Moab that day, I didn’t want to walk around with a big bulky brace. I had used KT tape before with success so I decided to tape up my knee and take my brace in my backpack as a back up. Following the instructional videos and I never had to use my knee brace and apart from having some odd tan lines on my leg, I was able to hike over 12 hours without any major discomfort. Thanks KT.
KT tape has been a life saver for me. I sprained my ankle really bad in early June out on a training run and could not find a brace I liked. I decided to try KT tape. Because of KT tape I ran a 15K race only 6 days after spraining my ankle. Braces are bulky and uncomfortable, KT tape works and you don’t even notice it on your body nor is it a bother while running. I was afraid my marathon training season and upcoming Sept. marathon was in jeopardy, which is no longer the case. I have recommended KT tape to all my running friends. I use it on my ankle, knee and calves, and it stays on my body for as many days as I want. I have run in very hot temperatures several days in a row, and taken multiple showers and the tape holds strong. I couldn’t be happier with this product. I just ordered 3 more rolls!
Application dependent, August 13, 2011
The tape works as described. I wore it to treat an achilles injury for several weeks, and the tape definitely made it feel better when I wore it. One posible problem is that having the tape stick for more than a few days depended on how it was applied. Make sure that the skin is clean and shaved for the best results. Rubbing alcohol works well to clean the location. Following the application directions is easy, but be sure to apply no stretch at the end; it really affects its adhesion. I also used the uncut rolls for this particular application, as the split, precut tape made it harder to apply. The precut tape is, however, better for treating other injuries.
Overall I like the tape for injuries, as it allowed me to get back to running faster than otherwise.
