  3. Young Bloods: The Truth about High School Sports [INFOGRAPHIC]

    High school athletes have always debated which sport is the toughest and most dangerous. The bigger issue, however is safety. As more and more athletes are getting into year-round sports, and competing at higher levels, there is growing concern for the safety of high school athletes and the long term effects that injuries have both on and off the field.

  4. New KT Tape Applications for Bicep, Tennis Elbow, and Thumb Pain

    Here's a brand new video fro bicep strains. KT Tape can help relieve the pain in the bicep by relaxing a damaged muscle, increasing blood flow to reduce inflammation, or relieving pressure off of the area.     This video is an update for our tennis elbow application. KT Tape helps to treat tennis elbow by increasing circulation to a relatively nonvascular area. KT Tape also decreases pressure and creates fascial manipulations to immediately reduce pain. To minimize healing time, one should also perform light progressive stretching of the forearm muscles, ice after activity, implement massage, and focus on core movements rather than overuse of the extremities. NSAIDs may also be taken to reduce pain and any inflammation that may be present. Once symptoms have subsided, implementation of a strength training program targeted at the shoulders, back, and core will help to reduce strain on the forearm. Technique improvement during sport or occupation will also greatly reduce the occurrence of tennis elbow.

  6. KT Tape Continues to Shred

    NicholasDunlop2We recently shared a testimonial from KT Tape user and action sports athlete Nicholas Dunlop, a skateboarder from Venice, California. He’s been tearing it up at the Venice Skate Park and sent us this new photo of him taped up, taken by Julian Bleecker.

  7. Wait, There's an App for THAT?

    babyheadKT Tape has endless possibilities, it is not just limited strictly to the suggested online instructions.  If you can name it -- KT Tape can probably help.  A fan on Facebook asked this question –

    “My daughter is a cheerleader & somehow injured her big toe, like where you would get a bunion?  Any ideas as how to tape it so it can heal & she can feel some relief?  Thanks for the advice.”

    KT Tape’s suggestion? – Tape the toe similar to taping a finger in the finger jam application.  You can cut the anchor (logo) side off of an I-strip, tear the perforation down the middle, and have two thin strips.  Use one on top of the other for extra support and cushion.

  9. Not the Chirping Cricket

    Cricket is not a game you can play while drinking tea.  This sport requires extensive training and mental focus.  The following excerpt from Netfit,  a British based site dedicated to health and fitness, highlights the necessary elements required by those participating in the game.

    Along with building a good base of strength and fitness, the skills of the game should be worked on, ideally as a team in order to produce a higher level of combined skills, as cricket is a sport that is played in two forms, batting and fielding.


    Batsman aim to stay at the crease for as long as possible, sometimes for periods of over 4 hours. In order to occupy this position, a good bats man most be able to stay focused, have good ball / eye skills, and have the strengths and fitness to make each shot played count.

    The power will come from having a strong core, abdominal mid-section and the ability to generate explosive upper body actions, however with that said, using the kinetic energy of the ball as it speeds towards you, only requires a slight change in direction in order to score 4 runs - unfortunately this skill has only be given to a few class bats man.


    Fielders need the ability to sustain a concentrated effort for a 6 hour plus period without fatigue, in sometimes very warm conditions. There bodies most be capable of explosive bursts at any given time - such as racing for a ball, jumping for a catch.

    Aim to keep your body moving whilst on the pitch, walking and stretching the muscles whenever possible. Keep your mind busy by visualizing exactly what you will do when the ball comes towards you.
