Oksana Masters

Oksana was born in Ukraine with both legs damaged by radiation poisoning from the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. After being adopted and moving to the US, she had both legs amputated, her left at age 9 and the right at age 14. Her mother suggested she give adaptive rowing a try and instantly fell in love with the sport, which led her to her first Paralympics and in 2012, she won a bronze medal. Shortly thereafter, she began Nordic skiing and cycling and would go on to win another seven Paralympic medals.
