Applying CGM Patch

The KT Tape CGM Patch is made with our exclusive KT Tape Extreme adhesives.  Follow the same skin preparation steps shown here as you would for our other kinesiology tape products.

If you're wondering how to apply a glucose monitor patch or how to use KT Tape for CGMs, this guide will walk you through the essentials.
 

Before applying your CGM patch:

• Apply before activity:  Apply at least 1 hour before exercising or exposing patch to water.  This will help ensure strong adhesion to the skin.
• Clean Skin: Use rubbing alcohol to ensure the skin is clean and free from oils or lotions.  Allow to air dry before applying patch.
• Trim Hair:  Trim hair to ensure best adhesion to skin.

How To Apply CGM Patch to Continuous Glucose Monitor:

The KT Tape CGM Patch is applied over and around your CGM device.  Follow your device instructions to properly apply your device prior to application of the KT Tape Patch.

1. Peel the center backing paper away to expose the adhesive on the patch.  Avoid touch the adhesive side of patch.
2. Apply exposed section of patch directly over and around the CGM device, ensuring that the edges cover the flange around your CGM device.
3. Peel away the remaining backing paper from patch and press the patch to the skin.

Post-Application Tips for CGM Patch Users:

• Do not dry with heat:  When the patch is wet, gently pat dry with a towel.  The KT Tape Extreme adhesive is designed to stay in place through water, sweat, showers, etc.  The fabric is a synthetic material that will get wet and will dry quickly.
• Trim any lifting edges:  For any edges of the patch that may lift or fray, trim with scissors to extend the life and comfort of the patch.

How to Safely Remove the KT Tape CGM Patch:

1. Peel the patch up at the edge.
2. If leaving the device on, place finger on the device to hold in place while removing and replacing the patch.
3. Gently and slowly peal the patch back - not up.
