Ask an Expert: Taping for a Recovering Broken Clavicle

Facebook fan Colin Rice asked about how to tape up while healing from a broken clavicle.  Here’s what KT Tape enthusiast Physical Therapist Joseph McCaleb suggests: With anchor over top of sternum (very careful not to place tape on soft area above top of sternum), place one tail directly on clavicle with about 10% tension and end with tail coming over acromialclavicular joint (bump on top of shoulder). Second tail below border of clavicle as shown. AVOID placing tape above the top boarder of clavicle as there are sensitive soft tissue items here. Over top of sternum (not soft area above top of sternum), place one tail directly on clavicle with about 10% tension and end with tail coming over acromialclavicular joint (bump on top of shoulder). Second tail below border of clavicle as shown. For a full list of online taping instructions click here. To ask an expert about a taping issue not found on the KT Tape website, click here.
