The KT Tape Team spent last week at the USA Water Polo Junior Olympics competition in Irvine, CA.  The Junior Olympics represents the premier showcase of age group water polo in the world and provides an unequaled experience for more than 5000 athletes across the U.S.  For the full event report, check out the USAWP article below and see if you can spot the KT Tape in all the pictures from the event!

The world’s largest water polo tournament came to a close yesterday in Irvine, California as the 2011 SwimOutlet.com Junior Olympics wrapped with the girl’s competition. Medals were awarded in the Platinum and Gold flights in the 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U, and 21U age divisions along with the first ever JO Challenge featuring 16U and 18U age divisions.

In the 12U Platinum flight it was Santa Barbara, who advanced to a host of title matches, defeating Laguna Beach 11-5 for the Gold Medal. In the Bronze Medal match Commerce downed Foothill 13-10. In the Gold flight it was Vegas Henderson over South Coast 12-9 for the Gold and Greenwich Aquatics topping NSD Stars 6-5 to earn the Bronze. The 14U Platinum flight witnessed Commerce defeating SoCal 9-4 to earn the Gold and San Diego Shores cruising past Laguna Beach 14-6 for the Bronze Medal. In the Gold flight it was a thrilling finish with CVAC earning the Gold Medal over Kahuna Black in a shootout win while SHAQ edged South Coast 7-6 for the Bronze Medal.

The 16U Platinum championship saw Santa Barbara advance to the title match to battle SoCal and it was Santa Barbara victorious to earn the Gold 10-7. In the Bronze Medal match Commerce just got past San Diego Shores 7-6. The Gold flight saw Falcon win the Gold Medal with a 6-4 win over La Jolla and in the Bronze Medal match it was Huntington Beach topping South Coast 10-6. The 18U Platinum flight saw one of the tourney’s top matches in the Gold Medal final pitting Santa Barbara and Huntington Beach. When the dust settled it was Huntington Beach claiming the Gold Medal with a 6-5 victory. SoCal grabbed the Bronze with a two goal win over Diablo 7-5.

The 21U division, new this year to Junior Olympics, in just a single flight it was SoCal winning first place and the Gold Medal with a 9-4 win over Santa Barbara. In the Bronze Medal match CHAWP was a 12-7 winner over LA Water Polo.

In the JO Challenge 16U division, Silver flight, the Gold medal was scored by SoCal with an 8-4 win over United while the Bronze went to SET with a 10-9 win over Los Al. The 18U division Silver flight saw the championship won by Xtreme with a 10-6 win over Elite while SET defeated American River 10-3 for the Bronze Medal.
